Muss Development LLC

Founded in 1906, Muss Development has been building in New York for more than 100 years. Led by Joshua L. Muss, grandson of founder Isaac Muss, we have grown to become one of the largest real estate development companies in New York City. We have developed more than 15 million square feet of commercial, residential, industrial and retail space throughout the five boroughs.

Our experience and expertise includes all aspects of development and operations, from planning and approvals to construction, marketing, sales, leasing and management. We pride ourselves on the trust we have earned in our community, based on our proven track record. The relationships we have nurtured over the years are key to our success.

Also crucial is the diversity of our portfolio. A century ago we focused on residential projects in the outer boroughs. Fifty years ago we ventured into the commercial arena. Our holdings now vary in size and scope, from a single townhouse to community strip malls, to grocery-anchored shopping centers, office towers and master-planned condominium communities. Notable projects - recently completed or under development - include:

  • Brooklyn Renaissance Plaza and New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, a 1.5 million-square-foot mixed-use office and hotel complex in Downtown Brooklyn
  • Oceana Condominium & Club, an award-winning, 15-building, 865-unit, 1.2 million-square-foot oceanfront residential community in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn
  • 7000 Austin Street, a 100,000-square-foot retail complex anchored by a Barnes & Noble Superstore in Forest Hills, Queens
  • Flushing Plaza, a 260,000-square-foot first class office building in Flushing, Queens
  • 345 Adams Street, a 36,000-square-foot space conversion from office to retail and a visionary restoration of original Renaissance Revival-style building details
  • 64 West 48th Street, a repositioned centrally-located 130,000-square-foot office building in the Plaza District, adjacent to Rockefeller Center
  • Prince's Point, a 23-acre, 120-home waterfront community in Staten Island
  • Parking Facilities owned and operated in Brooklyn, Staten Island and Queens, with capacity for over 4,000 cars
